MEMORY

“La Albega”  is  an  open  land  at  the  meander  of  the  Henares  River   at   Alcalá   de   Henares,  a   central   place  of  the western     development of Madrid metropolitan area. Over 98 hectares, 4,000 dwelling units were designed, recuperating land by a river cut-channel. Again, concentrating buildable area on dense fabric of towers and cloisters allowed for saving most land as a protected river park and gardens and yards at the interior of the blocks. It was developed with other solutions that did not propose the river cut.
