MEMORY
“El Balconcillo” is a Public Housing, low-cost residential new quarter of 3.500 d.u. close to the center of Guadalajara as the last urban center of the western corridor of Madrid extension. The design reduced the density and pursued the connection of dense central axis linear buildings of 4-7 stories, few towers of 10 stories, cloisters of 3 stories and row houses on the edge of the river. Complete urban design and architectural drawings were finished but construction was interrupted by the bankruptcy of the construction company. The lot of 35 hectares was recently was sold, divided into blocks and developed by different private developers. Our construction was limited to 3 blocks of different original typologies.
